New Product

SWT has introduced a super absorbent wound care product.

"We often use Elasto-gel because it tends to keep the hypertropic tissue at bay, keeps wound bed moist and absorbs more than Duoderm".
Shelly, CWOCN

A friend of my mothers' had a burn that she had had for a year and a half that would not heal. Since she was in such pain, my mother and I became involved in her care. She saw Dr. Shahidi, a specialist on plastic surgery at Telemark Hospital. After two months with Elasto-Gel and some surgery, her wound healed. The hospital only had one Elasto-Gel wound dressing, and the Haukeland Hospital in Bergen had never heard of Elasto-Gel, but we were able to obtain more dressings through another relative in the United States.
There is probably a need for Elasto-Gel at all hospitals in Norway and to the general public, but to our knowledge it is not available at pharmacies or hospitals. Therefore, my mother and I are planning to start a company to import these products. Our family comes to you with a wide range of experience and education and we all speak fluent English. We have several questions we need answered to start the process. You may contact me via e-mail".

"After leg surgery a few years ago, I was able to get Elasto-Gel through my therapist. When I had surgery again, I did not need therapy and therefore did not have the contact to obtain the product. I called around and was unable to locate a source to purchase Elasto-Gel. After contacting the manufacturer, they were able to help me find a distributor".

Dear Sirs,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for providing such a great product as the Elasto-Gel Packs! I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and have been using your product since 1984. I use them several times a day and my patients seem to like the fact that they stay hot or cold during their whole session of 30 minutes to 1 hour. I am just now replacing my original packs from 16 years ago. They have held up tremendously through the years. Again, thank you for your remarkable product. I look forward to continuing to use your products in the future.

Dear Ms. Stout,
July 1, 2000 I fell breaking both ankles. Rehabilitation is going very slowly. I became aware in late October, when I finally graduated to crutches, that I was allergic to the rubber hand holds and arm protectors. I tried covering them with a four ply plastic wrap covered with a two ply piece of T-shirt fabric. This helped immensely. Yet , enough of the odor escaped the ends that I continued to have an allergic reaction.
I called the office of Dr. Robert Haas hoping the orthopedic personnel could help. Their suggestion was to try durable equipment stores. After five or six calls, I spoke with Linda at AC Home Medical 5405 N.E. Antioch, K.C. Mo. 64119). Finally I found someone who knew of a product that would be hypoallergenic.
I had another two week wait before your Elasto-Gel products made it into my home. How I thank you for the ease and comfort that is now mine when using the crutches. More than that I am thankful to once more be off antihistamines and nasal sprays. I have given your company information to Dr. Haas office personnel. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance in sharing the news of your existence. Again, thank you for producing a hypoallergenic product that also brings great comfort.

To whom it may concern:
I was at a Drug Store and asked for Black arm pads and hand grips. I also was interested in black tips for the bottom of crutches.
My husband has only one leg. He uses crutches. I special ordered a pair of your Crutch-Mate Hand Grips and Arm Pads. He tried them on tonight and said they are more comfortable than any in 30 years that he has tried.
Our hope is that they will hold up for more than 90 days. He repairs lawn mowers and the black hides the oil. This is an answer to our prayers.....Thank You
Harriet Bruun
